M62 - Ex 20 - Oldham

Follow A627 (M) for about 2 miles, take A627 Oldham/Ashton.

Follow Oldham/Ashton signs on dual carriageway for 1 mile to
roundabout, still following Oldham/Ashton join Oldham by-pass

At end of by-pass (Mumps bridge roundabout, railway station on your right ) take A62 Halifax / Huddersfield road, after approx. 2 1/2 miles, climbing all the time, you leave the built up areas passing into open country.

After passing Scouthead Church on your left (Stone Vicarage just before the church and a school just past it).

Look for the Star Inn on your right turn right by the Inn onto Platting Road. Carry on for about 1 1/4 miles, to the Cross roads go straight across at the junction (Lydgate New Stone flats will be on the diagonally opposite corner).

You will pass the White Heart pub and a small school on your left and Lydgate church on your right Carry on for 3/4 mile, (descending all the time) to next junction.

At the Y junction turn right and carry on for 1/4 mile, take the first turning on your left down a steep hill, (this is Carrhill Road). Our works is approximately 300 yds down this road on the left hand side

The building is an old Methodist chapel Built of brick and stone with a blue slate roof.
